what are you listening to?

Darcy, nice call on the Joan, she's a real songwriter/singer :love4:

Bill, I have 'Live in Rio' on CD, I think its 3 CDs, I have to find it, I put it away because it is one of the worst sounding recordings I have, I LOVE Rush but, it's just sooo compressed and muffled, Getty's vocals are way over miked. How does your Lp sound?

Speaking of Lps.....Shpongle just came in, DAYUM!!:notworthy::cheers:!!!!! Every fan should snap one of these up, priced from $24 to $35 +ship, worth every penny!!!!!! Hard for me to compare to the CD since I use a crappy little BluRay player since the Onix quit , it's coming your way Leester for a looksee from you, I know you can fix it for me!!

I've heard the CD in Lee's Buick rental car which had an amazing stereo, and on Stephen Evans mega buck system with K-Horns. My Summits aren't known for gut moving bass but, I swear the Lp has bass in spades, and the tinkles and waterdrip sounds are just unreal, the soundstage is mind blowing :toothy4:, wider, deeper, stronger!! Best $30 I've sent in a long time :love4:

steuwee I don't have the LP and yes I agree it's not the best of recordings, but I like to hear the live sound instead of the studio version once in a while. Just for variety. Their Snakes and Arrows tour is one I listen to more often. That has better sound and some great tunes, but lacks that particular song.

Vinyl will typically have much less compression/processing if they have mastered it right for that format.

Coolness!!!

[FONT=&amp]Always like to hear something new. Just heard Shpongle - Brain in a Fishtank. Not my style, but interesting. Sometimes thing you don't understand have to grow on you. See how you like this one. I can't understand one word, but I like the tune:

Lee Ritenour - Color Rit - #2 - È
#1 - Bahia Funk - is pretty good too - This is one song I use to test/audition speakers

Yup, he does...can't hurt the Oppo though.

Must of made my point to him that night. He hasn't jumped on the equipment since.
