Damn- a conspiracy- you guys are all out to break me, aren't you! "Stairway" was my only reason to avoid that album altogether, and to tell you the truth, "When The Levee Breaks" would be the main reason for me to buy it- I actually liked that song better than "Stairway". Zeppelin was a blues band more than a rock band IMO, and "Levee" was the perfect example as well as the most outstanding track (again, opinion).

Then you have to buy the deluxe edition, because most the alternate versions supplied - in original album order - on the second disk are pretty damn good; no fodder, no filler.
And again this comes from someone not entirely fond of IV.
You could buy it just for "Levee" and "Stairway" but as a good conspiracy advocate arm-twister,

buy it because you must, NOW SIGN THE PA-PERS !

In all seriousness though, IV offers the best "deluxe" offerings IMHO.
I still like the remastering of the 1st disc on LZ III the best - so far.

As a side note, and as a die-hard, I can't wait for Presence to arrive.
I'm buying the expensive Uber box for that one ... no others.

Listening to record 1. I first heard these guys through their performance at Woodstock and The Fish Cheer - gimmee an 'F'. a band with music I've explored deeper in the last few years. Country Joe McDonald had a lot on his mind and some of it sticks for me, great psychedelic imagery and music.

I agree re physical graffiti, great tracks, it was the sound quality I was referring to. Even still its bearable for such good songs. I hope they make an improvement with the remaster but realise there is only so much you can do with an original source.

some interesting music with mellotron and fuzz tone guitar. I find the Bee Gees output in the 60's quite listenable. More than I can say for the lightweight output that came later.

The Rush vinyl has some wear on it, possibly played by bad stylus or with too heavy tracking force by previous owner. Still not too shabby. Its more noticeable with the vocals. Great tracks these.
