Blaze, I'ma yes fan too, knew nothing about that one though...
Ah cool!

Well if you ever enjoyed the original LP and then were completely let down with the subsequent CD release years later, with it's mastering flaws and total lack of dynamics, then you might enjoy this newer remastered version.
It's another one of those great live albums from yesteryear (no pun intended) that captures these guys at their 2nd peak IMHO!

Wowza!

You are a die-hard!

'Yesshows' came out in 1980. It was kind of weird as Anderson was gone by the time of its release (for a skosh) and the 'Drama' thing was happening.
It's a memorable time for me because I really dug 'Drama' yet 'Yesshows' was an awesome captured tour. I highly recommend it,
especially the remastered version because is sounds really well mastered. Always been a huge fan of 'Relayer', so hearing
'The Gates of Delirium' live was a treat. I've heard other boots of 'Gates' but none compare to the version on 'Yesshows'.
The original studio version is awesome too. Scoop up some 'Yesshows' on FLAC of that remastered version if you can;
you won't be disappointed - promise! Don't be discustard dude - just go get it!

If you had a chance to see the 'Union' tour and remember that performance delivery, 'Yesshows' matches that level of live
performance from the entire band.

I'm shocked you two dudes never heard of 'Yesshows' but I guess it was kind of a sleeper album of the time period, albeit an official release.
1979/1980 is a awesome time-capsule of music memories for me; 'Drama', 'Yesshows', 'Pat Travers Live - Go For What You Know',
Ronnie Montrose's 'Gamma I & II' to name but a few..

The Extremist
Time Machine
mix tape

Metal Master 90
Recorded ~ 1993

Sounds every bit as good, every bit as crisp as the day
I recorded it. The studio tracks on these two albums
blend easily and you'd think they were all from one album.
'Time Machine' has a section of live stuff I left out of the
mix; it stands on its own and I typically don't mix studio
and live stuff anyhow. Weird quirk of mine you might say,
plus level matching due to inherent differences in dynamics
always torqued my ear..so maybe it ain't so weird.

Welcome Back, My Friends, to the Show That Never Ends... Ladies and Gentlemen

Somewhere between Buddy Rich, Bonzo, Neil Peart and Taylor Hawkins had to be
a percussion master like no other;
Carl Palmer was (is) that dude!
And he is freaking awesome on this album..

This album was a staple of my musical diet during the summer of '77;
I happened upon it late but it blew my mind!

I'm almost too embarrassed to comment.
.... but I'm d/l'ing a flac of it now, and beating myself with a big stick as I speak.
.... and going without lunch, to punish myself.
Lemme know what you think BD..I'm interested in your impressions! :glasses8:

That's why I want to know your impressions BD; you are a Yes fan
so I bet you have an interesting perspective on it. Give it a good
listen with no distractions and perhaps a glass of vino,
and report back..please!

I'll take the Horeb comment as a compliment otherwise I'm going
to run and find a fire extinguisher before it's too late
LOL

I think 'Yesshows' out-does 'Yessong'. And 'Close to the Edge'
is a masterpiece. Ah the good old days of full-on concept albums!

I doubt very much that I won't like it.
I'm still locked into the Yessongs time capsule.
... or Close to the Edge even.

BlazeES, you are the Burning Bush of Mount Horeb..... (Sinai to some.) ;)
