WOPL Sniffer

Just need the specs on the arm to get the spindle to pivot distance.

16” transcription records, anyone?I think your pretty much stuck needing a 12” effective length tonearm for that ROK

I have a ROK CVS16, actually a clone of the Technics SL series, made in China by Hanpin. Three speed, aluminum “pie pan” platter with direct drive, crummy tonearm with no VTA adjustment, “outrigger” anti-skate. Switch for reverse rotation and vertically recorded (Edison diamond discs) records. Not really pleased with it, but plays almost any record (not 16 2/3 though). Plays 16” records, I have five in my collection. Here is a quick review on my table.

In retrospect, I should have gone with one of the original ROKs, and look for a cutting lathe to go with it (for the hell of it).
A lot of people have worn out 1side of the album and the other side is like newand that’s my only copy that hasn’t been played to death. It one of those albums thats always beat to hell when you find one…..
me too, thinking about getting a second one

Yep. 10-1/2” spindle to pivot. Just scribe an arc/circle exactly-ish 10-1/2” from the spindle and drill your mounting hole anywhere you like on that arc/circle.
Yeah, but what size arm can I then use for the second position? What do I need to consider?
Y’know… I liked the songs on the other side, too!A lot of people have worn out 1side of the album and the other side is like new
I thought that was the arm you wanted to mount… need specs for the arm you want to mount then go through the same exercise.
I really like that Pickering arm he posted the video of.As I said, my table has the same arm as Kyles, I am kicking around adding a newer style arm.
The Rega arm and Micro arms mount at 222mm (8.74”) spindle to pivot distance. To give an idea.
