I have a ROK CVS16, actually a clone of the Technics SL series, made in China by Hanpin. Three speed, aluminum “pie pan” platter with direct drive, crummy tonearm with no VTA adjustment, “outrigger” anti-skate. Switch for reverse rotation and vertically recorded (Edison diamond discs) records. Not really pleased with it, but plays almost any record (not 16 2/3 though). Plays 16” records, I have five in my collection.
In retrospect, I should have gone with one of the original ROKs, and look for a cutting lathe to go with it (for the hell of it).
