I'm not sure what you mean by "the real deal," but I assure you I am the real John Robison. I'm not somebody pretending to be me, if that's what you mean.
After working in audio with rock and roll bands I went on to do sound effects in games for Milton Bradley and others, and I did high power electronics for military and commercial users. My last job in electronics was as general manager of power systems at Candela, a company that made medical and military lasers. In that job, my power supply group designed and build pulse power supplies for military and scientific customers that went as high as 50,000 watts/second of pulsed output. Way more that these amps! That kind of power, concentrated in a few microseconds of laser blast and repeated a few thousand times, vaporized crucibles of fissionable material, and punched holes in hardened objects.
A few years later, I became disillusioned with electronics and started a business restoring cars in Springfield, MA, and I'm still here today.
But my son and ex-wife continue our musical tradition. They are actually overhauling or restoring some of the original KISS guitars right now, and we build a few custom instruments. If I can see how to post photos I will show you guys some
