Hi gang, I'm at it again, this time reworking a PL700 series 2. I'm installing a Watts Abundant Speaker Protection board, however one thing has popped up I could use some clarity on. I sent this question to Don, but I think he is on the road. I also though it might be useful here, as I could not find this question anywhere else on the board.

There is a bare ground wire that runs from a black binding post, to a switch, and then onto the grounding pad. The WA instructions state to remove the bare wire between the binding post and the switch. The WA site pictures and instructions do not mention there is a small green wire and two small gray wires attached between the ground post and the switch. The two small gray wires go to the driver board, the small green wire goes to a transistor, bottom, second row from the right.

The question is do I just trim the bare wire back to this junction? Please note these are not the gray ground wires that attach to the binding posts.

As always, thanks for your input on this question. I will also post Don's guidance when I hear from him.

Cut the solid core wire between the first Black binding post and the terminations of the small Grey and Green wires (Red line below).

Leave the Green and Grey wires attached to the solid core wire going to the coupling switch and RCA copper plate.

Further Grounding updates could be made to improve and eliminate ground loops, but that would require more detail.
