Glad to hear that your not having a chick drink tonight - I was beginning to worry.

Bummer about the spill. You think it's a problem in Wyoming - just think what happens here where I live. I have several family members working in the oil industry and when shit goes bad things can get shut down in a hurry. Lots of off shore drilling and of course lots of on shore stuff going on locally also.
 
Thanks for hooking me up Joe! Now I need a few more. If someone does have a pile/bag of them, I would be happy to swap some EMIT tweeters or other parts/pieces for them. I have several friends that would love to get them into their guitars. Not sure what they use in the new Gibson Les Paul's but others say they don't sound the same
 
Should also note that I am looking for the .15 rated ones also for the neck pickups tone control. The .22s are only used for the bridge pickup tone control
 
I have one of the .22's. Send me your address and I'll mail it. I'll check the stash for the .15's.

Got them today Joe, going to put one in tomorrow to try out before I put them all in. before we head to the Woodstock Fair. Can't wait to get my Jimmy Page on. Thank you!

On a side note, I need several more LOL. The .015's are going to be an experiment for me so I would like to try at least a few. I thought they were also 400v but you guys are mentioning 600v?

hi Ron

you have all the 0.022uF bees that I have.

I have 2 of the 0.015uF 600v bees. They are 600v because that is what I happen to have.

Also have over a dozen of the 0.027uF 400v bees

Ron here is the magic decoder chart for the Bumble Bees to answer your PM to me. To answer further, the 4th green or white band is the initial tolerance. Green = 5% and White = 10%

At this point, that matters little because you have the actual LCR bridge reading for each written on the package label I provided. Whether they were 1, 5 or 10% initially 50 years ago doesn't matter at all when they all drift upwards over the years.

Thanks for the info Joe, I understand about the drifting over time. Regarding the 0.027's they would sound too dark probably. Need to read up more on the 600v .015's
 
You all need to post these on the bay if you have extra as vintage guitar guys go nuts for them for some reason. If they test new I could see wanting to keep the original look but most are leaky and not in spec any longer.

Tone is an odd, subjective thing though. When I was collecting vintage guitars and amps I'd always have these discussions with friends.

I recapped a few of their amps and they were not happy. I explained to them that the amps now sound like they did new or better and that the "tone" they had grown to love was the sound of out of spec components. I don't disagree with folks as I'm not willing to recap a few I have as I like the way they sound now. I still find it interesting though as in the audio world we are looking for the best specs we can get and in the guitar world we tend to look for the sound we know.... :D
