OKAY...here's how this stands at just over 3 weeks from my birthday June 26th...

One CT-F900 en route from Nakdoc

Lee,
I need you to get back to me on the stuff you were talking about last month. WILL PM.

LAZ: Update me on the CT-F600 so I can take care of it, TODAY IS PAYDAY

If tornadoes and flooding didn't do my plans in I should have a 550 and another 615

Now that leaves only the 950 and 1250, maybe a 605 (floroscan meters, piano key controls)

It's just going to be $50 tighter for most of the summer because the rent went up about that much, IMPORTANT FYI.

It's a beauty, came the other day and even played David Allen Coe for me before pulling a TDK D90. It's fixable though and I sure do thank you, Tom...

NOW...There is a 950 on eBay with just over 3 hours to go and still reasonably priced for a fixer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-CT-F950-stereo-cassette-deck-beautiful-but-broken-/371342300463

If you remember, I don't have Paypal and for a good reason, but if I could get some help...a quick PM would return my price range. It's in Seattle and the shipping figure is nowhere near realistic but cheaper than from Tennessee. I have a Plan B helper possibly, but that deck will be sold regardless as it has 10 bidders.

According to my figuring that leaves only the CT-F1250 and I intend to ask a friend about how to do that one over time.

I have TWO 900s. That should probably mean I have enough parts, no?

I am trying to get ahold of a person with the 1250 and arrange payments as well, in the neighborhood of $500 (and I expected that to be the most expensive and hardest to get).

Just over an hour and minimum bid is now $45...I am willing to go somewhat higher but that shipping amount sounds like a minor fantasy...don't know what to think about that.

Last minute frenzy, $76.

If that was one of you, yes, I have enough, just get ahold of me and I'll send my July budget.

One or the other...

And I'll explain again why I don't just get Paypal instead of asking for some help.

I only have one bank account and it's for my electronically deposited monthly benefits. I can't risk it to shenanigans and my money has to be budgeted for the next month. It all goes out during the first week of every month.

Everything but the one cent and a $4 maintenance fee to keep it open and meet a minimum balance of one cent that I can't get with a new account. After 24 years, why start again? Answer: basically, I CAN'T and I went paperless years ago for my benefits.

I've gotten along that way for at least seven years now.

That 1250 done escaped me, like I feared.

Not without a lot of help from other people.....but then you are on their schedule....I guess it depends on whether you get the help you need WHEN you need it...

If it happens, it happens. I'm not going to hold back if I think I can accomplish it though. I'm not out of anything that's a necessity, although I'm gonna have to get a bag of cat food this week and that's no problem. I have a lot of drumsticks, although the tuna lately is watery and all mushy...that is what I got at Grocery Outlet and it's Star Kist and Bumble Bee, surprisingly. So much for the CHUNK TUNA label.

Well, there's a big can of salmon too...they'll get a treat very soon.

The Pioneer CT-F600 from Laz had a nice lunch, dinner and a movie in Des Moines today and is on the road again...should hopefully get here in time for my birthday (Friday).

No crying (I'm in a league of my own)...

It left Federal Way yesterday, didn't get to go up the Space Needle or even see EMP (well, bummer...I went up the Space Needle in '92 and EMP was Seattle Center then IIRC, and I had a huge pistachio ice cream cone at the 50s diner that was there).

And I'd forgotten it has a VFD.

Since it's a fairly nice day and not really hot (it's coming this weekend), I'm going out on my bike for a while with my radio and my bike bottle for oldies and soda pop.

I absolutely give up on trying to be creative with this stupid platform.

I just want a 950 still.
