I have a question for any or all of you electronics wizards ....
What, if any, kind of circuit could a guy build to reduce a 12 volt charger to charge 6 volts ?
Solar trickle is what I have in mind for a charger.

Thanks for any consideration

Sure, charge 2- 6 volt batteries at the same time!! Brilliant huh??

LOL .... Yep
I'm actually trying to maintain the battery in the 46 pickup without removing it also it is positive ground.
Had thot of it tho

Buy a cheap variac on Ebay and put it in front of your 12V charger. Dial in the voltage you want, which is 6.9V for a 6V Lead Acid Battery.

Absolutely a cool Idea ..... how would that be connected to the solar and they confuse me when all the panels are rated in watts

How about hooking up enough panels to get 6.9 volts? Series to get voltage then parallel to get amperage??

I don't know that much about solar panels, but if they output in DC there should be something you can do. Some sort of battery management circuit to taper off the voltage when it's near charged. Post the specs on the panels..

Thats the problem, at least for me .... all they ever seem to say is 12 V with any where from 3 to 20 watts on single panels that would be affordable.

Thats kinda why I asked .... resistors or diodes or both ... I dont know

Somebody that knows more than I do will have to answer that. A voltage divider circuit for 20 watts shouldn't be difficult...

It's WAY beyond me .... I can solder as well as the next guy and I can follow directions, but .......
was thinking of something a guy could put on a panel and mount to the inner fender, run a wire to a battery term for charging purposes
