I hate that everyone has started buying LPs. The people I bought from have raised their prices to almost crazy. I stopped looking any more.

Nah, Larry don't stop. My secret is to go to the supermarket where the old folks shop, they have those bulletin boards by the front door. I put up an ad for hauling away their unwanted Lps for free (adding that they'll have a loving new home is a nice touch, that gets their attention :love4: ). I Put my phone # with tear aways on the bottom, I've gotten hundreds of great Lps, one of my best haul was a sweet 60 year old couple in Oro Valley (full of old hippies), they had tons of awesome well cared for stuff. I was looking at their copy of Yes 'Fragile' to see if it hade the booklet, in the gatefold was a bunch of stems and seeds from the 70's, I looked up at them, they just hugged each other tight and smiled back...priceless!! :love6: :laughing8: :laughing8: :love6: :hippy2:

I'd say about half my 8,000+ were free of about a buck each, the most I ever paid was $65 for the Nina Hagen NY NY remix, go hunting buddy, lot's of good stuff out there, just have fun :D

Great picks there Rex!! I'm diggin' that, Che ~ Sounds Of Liberation, and the David Gilmor, I had that on CD years ago, can't seem to find it

OM Freakin G Nando that was just outstandingly beautiful, she has one of the best voices, male or female alive today! Bless her :love4:

I remember when she first came out as a lesbian, assholes would defile the sign outside Consort Alberta, and how a whole lot of Canadians said that they were so proud to have her as one of their own anyway!! Thanks for that link buddy

This thread needed a bump! Taping for a new buddy over at SH forums...

Crime of the Century ~ Supertramp, MFSL Original Master Recording, 1st pressing. I paid  $17 each for this and the Pink Floyd in 1979, that was alot of greasy dishes.

Dark Side of the Moon ~ Pink Floyd, MFSL Original Master Recording, 1st pressing.

I don't know is any of ya'll have any of these gems, but they are so utterly fantastic sounding even with the few pops and tics they've picked up over the years :love4: I'd put them up against the SACD or Gold CD versions anyday!

That's the pilferd Pioneer with a Grado Gold spinnin'

Those are two of my favourite classic rock albums, stuwee. One of my 7" open reels features COTC on Side A and DSOTM on Side B. I can only imagine the quality of the MFSL LPs.

Nando.

Well, we have to do something about that, on a super metal you can't hear a difference, but if you're game, I bet a 10" reel might sound even better at 7 1/2isp, you get 180 minutes at 7 1/2 each way. You haven't seen the other 3 MFSL's I've got yet, Hmmmmmm, think about it. Of course, the Thorens has to get it's issue fixed, this Pioneer/Grado is nice, but there really isn't a comparison between them, I know COTC like the back of my hand, and last night's taping showed up some degrading of the soundstage and the upper and lower notes. I'm not slamming Pioneer, the PL-1000A just isn't in the same league. Time to snap a few pics of the other three, watch this space :thumbright:

Hehe, these things are like bunny's, I found some I forgot about...
