This would be something my old lady would dig for sure, not the price though

Looks like Brookstone is going the way of Radio Shack, and I just bought one of their wobble clocks...

非常にかわいい (Very cute!) Japanese have a thing for "kawaii" (cute stuff).

I'm peachy with the nearly 40 year old Audio-Technica AT-702 pair I got earlier this year, they are not UBER but are surprisingly nice, and pretty attractive to boot. Finding things like that makes my hobby FUN.

The Brookstones would be great for HER:

A product that COMPLETELY sums up the American condition.

( ... and I'm not talking about Buzzlie girl )

yeah, it would certainly take something infinitely better than those el-cheapo novelty specials above
to convince me to upgrade from my early-70's PIONEER SE-305;

That won't be difficult I guess.

Several very good sounding and affordable headphones available if you do some research.

I had the same "Coconut" Pioneers, but they sound like (as Blaze would say: I M H ..) shit comparing to what's possible with good (non Beats crap) drivers today.

But they are nice and they warm your ears enough to aid earwax removal...a definite old age benefit.

The old Pioneers are cool looking, but seriously bested by the likes of Sennheiser, AKG, Stax, and any number of orthodynamics.

my sister has a pair of low-end SENNHEISERs she uses for her computer that i once used
when testing the cassette WALKMAN i used to use 15 years ago, after unearthing it and giving it a good re-belting and re-lube.

have to admit that they had made the WALKMAN sound so good that it was several songs into the test mixtape i was using
before i came back to planet earth and realized i had gotten lost in the music...

How about electrostatics? 600 volts about an inch from each ear should have some effect, right?

F'n A right brother!! My old AKG 340 stat/dynamic's were the best I ever heard below $1,000+ cans. Depending on the headphone jack source or even better running them off the speaker connections :happy2:! Of course now we have lots of nice powerful 'phone amps to drive 'stat phones.

There's a guy over on the Martin Logan forums that sits between his Prodigy speakers aimed at each side of his head....sick :hello1:
