I use Spotify. I like it a lot. I have to find a way to convert my Toslink connection to coax or something else to go into the DAC. I use the Tos connection for the TV.

Hey just say the word... I have an optical to coax converter here I'll give ya, no probs!
How long is it?

Larry
Just a little matchbox size thing, with an optical port on one end and a coax/RCA on the other.. like this here...

Found some switches on the bottom of the E-MU. Was getting hiss. So I am listening to Pink Floyd " Pulse " lot of SYNERGY going on here. Have to figure out a wall covering though. I'm using Spotify as my source. This is about as far as I go Digital. LOL

There are 2 switches on the bottom. Lift and grd. I put them to left. I have to crank it almost full blast with no input to hear hiss now. Not cured but better.

iPhone wasn't really to compare other then being an increased level of heresy :alien:

But I enjoyed it a lot. (before I fried the output) I use it to much as a web browser when I'm listening to music, so I don't really feel like plugging it in. I don't think I'll be going a PC route myself, but I was looking at a cambridge dac that also has a Bluetooth streaming add on which might work *shrug*. I just want a simple but decent way to stream Pandora (squeeze box?)

Peace
Yikes.. how did you fry the output? Another nice thing with the ASUS is swappable op amps - the I/V converters and the output buffer amp are all in IC sockets so you can change 'em out with other flavors of op amps to suit your taste. Or hmm.. hopefully not, but if I ever fry the output then it should be easy enough to repair, I hope?
I fried the headphone jack on the phone when I was working on my Pioneer CTF9191 deck. I had the output of the phone connected as I was testing the recording on the bench. I had a bad power switch on the deck that arc'd and threw the house breaker while I was working on it. Musta thrown voltage back through the RCA's. Headphone out never worked again after that.

Come to think of it, this was all going on when I first joined here as I was working on the deck at the time.

Oh, and I bought a dock for it at Walmart today so I could hook it back into my stereo. Weeeeeee

I was thinking about it quite a bit, but honestly I can't see me using a TT. For tape, the Denon's pretty nice soundwise so that's really all I need in the Analog department. The ASUS certainly has the sound and the specs to match.
Jerry, looks like a winna to me :D , I'm glad you like my taste in gear, makes me happy someone like you appreciates what I have enough to go find one for yourself to play with :thumbright:

Now where can I find this thing that will slap me and call me Daddy??

Like just punching in a band and listening. Just a stroke of the keyboard and it is right there. Think I will get a hand miter saw. The Ryobi isn't giving me what I want. I have so many wild onion in my yard I could let them grow and have fresh onion all summer.

It pays to increase your word power----Non-Sequitur----A conversational or literary device, often used for comedic purposes. It is a comment that, because of it's apparent lack of meaning relative to what preceeded it, it seems absurd to the point of humorous.
