These are always fun if you're into cars ...

Ron: Have you no sense of brand loyalty? You've flipped cars from Dodge to Ford to GM to...

Your old Fury might have been ugly to you, but the heart of the car - namely the 383 - was the real beauty.

Nando.

Back in 1981, they were hard to give away. Hard to imagine the car was just under 20 years old then LOL!! I only grabbed it because it ran and was cheap. To be honest with you, it was not really a fast car at all but had plenty of torque

Thanks Nando. Yeah it was cool.. I still have the 32 Ford in my avatar. That pic was taken during Speed Week at Bonneville salt flats.
And I have my daily driver. A 1950 Plymouth Suburban wagon.

Robert. I saw one also in a 1965 Mustang (wheelwell to wheelwell) in Tony Nancy's shop in Sherman Oaks Calif. back in 1966.
Those motors made Hemi's look small. Also remember seeing Connie Kalitta's AA/FD Cammer run back in the day. It was probably at
Lions or Pamona or Irwindale or Fontana or Bakersfield or.......so many strips back then in California,
I don't think the Chain drive was to reliable,,I remember that the engine torque would put enough slop in the chain to throw the valve timing off and Puke the motor, later a gear drive was available,
FYI Mickey Thompson Developed Hemi heads to fit the SD and had Pontiac decided to stay in racing you could bet by mid year there would have been a few out there a year before Dodge re-intro'd them( a few of these engines still exist)Tony Nancy,,that name brings back memories

I owned a 383 once in a 1969 Plymouth Fury 2 door when I was in college.

Not mine, but it looked rthe same less the black hood.

Straight cut gears sound cool also.

Somebody who was on a Plymouth Prowler forums site in December 2004 (and oddly enough, named Orange, but I'd never heard of THAT one) posted this concept:

Nando.

It was just a Buick Invicta with a gland issue... Wasn't that the sister to Dodge Lancer, or maybe the original Dart?

Doug!! Youre retired!! Politics in what???

I'm VP of a 1219 lot Home Owners Association. We are having issues with a Director. Stripped him of his Executive position, he is subject of an Ethics Panel investigation and he has his puppets running interference on all Board goings on.

Next week, I'll go fishing at the cabin and am looking forward to that. I might even turn my stereo on today after I clean the gutters.

You mean there are wackos in Canada? :toothy5:

Chain drives can be pretty reliable, the Ford 427ci Cammer's seem to have survived pretty well (and are worth a bundle now)

I have rented for all 32 years of my life outside my family home. First you get out of studio and multi-unit projects and get an actual house. Then you hope for a neighbor who likes small dogs and lets you play with them.

I'm the best and only sycophant in this place I know...whatever.

Of course we are talking 60s tech as opposed to the new tech, If you guys go on Google images you can actually hear one of those beasts run, the sound is fantastic

Here was my million dollar car (the wife called it that). 65 Coronet plain jane but as you can see, I dumped the poly 318 in favor of something a little easier on gas... HA

I built this from a beat up junker.
