The K-Horns are coming ! The K-Horns are coming !!!!

To be precise...mine were built in 1986 from a set of Speakerlab plans . I bought the original Speakerlab drivers for 1200.00 The cabinets cost me 800.00 back then to build. It would cost about 1200.00 to do the cabs right today. In 2008 I upgraded the drivers and horns to: Crites 1526S woofs, 2" DCM-50 compression drivers with a wodd Martelli Tractix horn and B & C ME-10 tweet, and lastly a set of Al Klappenberger Universal Crossovers.. upgrade cost was..2800.00...


So , bottom line is about 4,000.00 for a killer set of K's....The bass is simply incredible, the mids and highs are extremely clear...

Some of the cost can be deferred by using the Elliptrac horns and building them yourself (300 pair), finding used BMS 4592's for mid drivers, and building your own crossovers. I have slimmed the crossovers down to 390.00 a pair. Conceivably, given enough time to shop around and scrounge you can come in for around for 2500.00
 
Or..... You can pay 9 grand for a new pair and still not have all the goods that Lee has in his !!!
 
True....

Kev, we were all hooked up today, just got in myself. Tim and Biggsie are going to finish packing them tonight and they'll load them on his one ton in the morning and Biggsie will haul them in and get down to North patk during her lunch hour...
 
the hunt is on.... lee could you help me with the size and dimensions if i wanna build my own cabs??
 
I have the plans still and have furnished copies to other members, I certainly can send you some..
 
I'll be tryin to check this out. I am down. Anybody here fly a lot to send me in the cheapest direction..???

WOW... What a great packing job... Looks great ! Can't believe they will be here next week !!! Been a long time waiting.... Hope the horns make it here fri !!! When you get time Lee check that tracking # on the horns.. I've never been able to get it to work on UPS.. Or fed -ex ..

Never mind... LOL.. I figured it out ...The 0 in the beggining of the tracking # is a 1... They be here tomorrow !!!!! Yes...
