So what is the verdict? The Denon PAO-1500 or the Yamaha M-8X? I know a bunch of you have the Yammie, and a few the PAO...Which one does sound better? I LOVE the look of the Denon...Kinda reminds me of the Luxman M Series amps....beautiful things...with the same meters...but like Lee said, not enough power...only 120 watts per....I think

I have the POA-1500 and PRA 1000 in the black faced variety. I haven't ever really listened to it too much. I have a CDP and Tuner to go with it, all have the wood side panels. :thumbright:

The only thing I remember about it is the meters don't haveany settings other than 1:1 and when you usually listen to music at one watt or so they hardly move. :cyclops:

John, you know how much I love you but, dude that is a crime, under some towels in a spare bedroom?? Ooooo, I shudder to think what they could do...sorry bud, I almost bought one of those amps, grabbed the Yammie instead, always wanted to know if I made the right choice, doen't matter now that the mighty Logan's are no longer with me, I'll give the AR T40's dingus gave me their due (very nice speaks), but not in my apt can I even think about testing both...

Stuwee it is unfortunate that I cannot use all of the equipment I own. the older I get the less I listen so even in the rotation some of the equipment sits idle under a towel in my lower level family room. I have thought about thinning the herd but that takes a lot of time and effort. As you know it is far easier to accumulate then to send gear packing.

If you only saw what I have under towels it would make you shudder. :joker:

Yah, I'll bet I got more stuff under my towel than you do under yours! And I thought I was the only one who put towels and sheets and stuff over my gear. My wife stays furious over the fact that I keep a pillowcase draped over my Music Hall turntable. I just don't want it to accumulate dust, not do I want it scratched by someone "dusting" or "cleaning". I just tell everyone "hands off" and DO NOT TOUCH ANY AUDIO GEAR. I don't want them to clean it or anything...I'll do that.

How many Fisher tube receivers do you have? I need to do an inventory of all my stuff, and thin the herd. Kevin would have to buy some rear spekers if I rounded all my stuff up..He is using my Paradigm Studio Monitors for his rears..and loving them, I recon...they are nice.

I only have one tube amp and one tube cd player. The rest are all SS. The only one objecting at my home is me, the dog doesn't really care how much gear I have. In order to account for everything I would need to take an inventory also as I can forget I own some of the gear I do own.

I like power amps with meters, hence the Onkyo GI M-508, the Spec 4, the DBX BX3, the Pioneer M-90, the Sony 77ES, the Nikko Alpha 600. Of course I don't just have the power amps but matching pre-amps, cassette decks, cd players.
