My friend Cory here and his mom took me out for dinner yesterday but he got here so late that the only places to go were Subway, Arby's or Denny's...I took the Arby's in the Pilot truckstop.

I had the turkey, bacon and cheddar sandwich (my favorite), the deadliest curly fries option they had (although smallish)...cheddar, bacon and ranch, and the usual spiked diet Dr. Pepper (they fixed the sugar free Tropicana lemonade and I had that later for a refill).

He had to get to Walmart before they roll up the Supercenter at midnight, no amount of bibbidy bobbed boo can fix that until 7 am, so I sat alone drinking my lemonade and went out just before midnight waiting for him to return...

After 20 years of being a diagnosed diabetic, the loss of two girlfriends to cancer and another to diabetes, a friend in England from Yesfans going in for her second brain surgery in 3 years after an initial benign meninglioma? on the 23rd (BREXIT DAY)...

I had been kidding that if I spontaneously combusted at 12:01 am today, at least I made it to 50!

Well, I told him he should have been faster in case I went POOF on the pickup seat right next to his mother...

PS To continue the weirdness my long distance service (Centurylink, which also serves Minnesota where Web, FF and my own brother live) was affected too, so it probably wasn't local...my LOCAL service was okay though...

That took an hour to resolve ITSELF...couldn't even dial the 800 number to Centurylink and get through SO...three calls to the CL operators got me sent right back to the nonworking number, a misdialed attempt (which is a number for a SURVEY with some special offer I'm well aware of and hang up) and then dropped.

Finally the county dispatch told me they were aware that there seemed to be a problem outside our area/Payette County, Idaho (They have a tollfree calling zone that we don't just across the river so I had to get a bundle to afford calling my own MOM 40 miles away)...

That got fixed an hour later, like I said but SHEESH, not even the internet I still had with DSL had a clue, only a couple of those 'consumer activist' sites where people do nothing but tell you so and so is full of shit...

That is my lifeline.

More KAOS than CONTROL this week.

And hopefully Web and FF can get online now, I'd read that maybe parts of Minnesota had no internet as well.

Things are somewhat normal again.

The maintenance crew finally stopped by and fixed the neighbor's door and they are coming tomorrow to measure my last three windows that needed replacement so now I have to remove the LPs from their big cabinet again tonight. Whee, but when I get them in my two bedrooms it will be sweet!

My glucose reading was really good this morning as well, close to the birthday present of a reading I had yesterday and even after the Arby's meal.

Ironically the song that just played on the oldies station was Tired Of Waiting For You :happy3:

Craig, our lady came through her brain surgery with flying colors, the MRI was awesome, and she went HOME TODAY! :hello1:

Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

I took the liberty to offer her congratulations on the behalf of Phoenix too. We are all stoked at Yesfans!
