Substandard Components Claims

I bought some in an e-bay grab bag once.......they're known as "expendable".......and a few have actually "expended"....

I think my collection is probably valuable but I have not started doing point to point tube amps yet :-)
 
Ah....more fun when they're "expended"......best one so far was a 20 ohm 5 watt CC that was part of a cap discharger, but alas it was left on the caps when the amp was powered back on. A few years ago......the bench and soundroom stunk for months.....dead burnt resistor smell....almost as bad as dead burnt cap smell...

I find that the 20 ohm ones smell the worst too Lee :-)
