Stu's Onix review

I'm running little over 4 feet of AM. You have to understand they are solid silver. I have never had anything else on the Creek so I can't compare. MSRP on the greens are about 120.00.

Still blissfully on the honeymoon! It's really changed my life, Probably the biggest audio revelation I've have in years, well since I got the ML's, that was the biggie

The Thorens pulls an amazing amount of info from the grooves, and we all know CD's have more detail on most recordings however, on a crap player they make you want to run from the room. This Onix pulls out all that detail and more, but in a most pleasing way, I listened to it almost 6 hours straight, late into the night several times, no fatigue, nada, zilch...I had to force myself to shut down :pirate:

I'm surprised it doesn't have a headphone amp, maybe to keep the signal pure it was omitted?

Robert, do you leave yours in standby? or switch the power off on the back?

Glad to hear that your experience has been almost a mirror of mine...... I have turned mine off both ways. If I plan on using it in the next several hours I use the standby switch. If it's going to be off for a much longer time I use the rear panel on/off switch.

I keep mine plugged in to the switched outlets on the Spec 1. Doesn't seem to make any difference in warm up time, still sounds ridiculously good either way.

Stu, I've poked around with the scope and can't find anything out of the ordinary with voltages or current. As soon as i figure out a new heatsink scheme It'll be headed your way. I'm also considering milling some slots above that section of the power supply.
