It's a loaner. I got no right channel :angryfire: , the left sounds fantastic, I have to switch IC leads, try the tape and phono to see if it's the Marantz or what...Crap!

My Marantz has dropped the right channel :angryfire: across the board, tape/aux/phono......so I hooked up the Onix in Dales system.

Jesus!!!!! Schweeeeet!!! Unreal sound  , and a Damn Nice Lookin' Rig :love10: , freakin' heavy biatch, the transport moves like buttah :laughing8: :laughing8:

Well, at least I can listen to it while I sort out my pre-amp situ :homework: , lucky me has some options, the Yamaha CX-600U and the SAE P102, the SAE has been idle for a couple years, we'll see :help:

I did snap a pic! I don't know if it came out, but the ports on the JBL's were blow'n air clear across the room, seriously made my hair move  , I taped some paper over the one to show it Hehe! Gonna be fun for the next few hours!!

Now your the funny man! LMAO, the Tara's are in use now. I have to take a break, I hurt my back moving that big Marantz, now I have to clean all the contacts measure where to put everything, and lash it all up again :bootyshake:

So far the sound is just what ya'll said, the cymbals are real, the bass is damn near perfect (and on the JBL's no less :D ). So I'm happy, and I've just played Alan Parsons and Fiona Apple, next up some Zep!! Then Rush for Canada Day

:tongue1: :tongue8: Cd's are yummy now!! Well worth the major surgery to get it where it belongs :thumbright: , now the Yamaha CX-600U is the preamp and I broke my rule and used the Tara IC's first, I can switch them out later. The room doesn't look like much now, but it all works...Especially the Onix :druid: This player is BadASS!!! I hear all kinds of shit I never heard before, I'm converted :headbang: :hello1: :notworthy: :laughing6:

btw, Jerry, those Kraftwerk TDK SA-X tapes on the Teac made me see the light as well :color:

What does converted mean? I'm just sitting here this AM. Really I don't sit here and say things just to say them. I don't just say things to sell stuff either. That isn't me. If they don't sell I will sit here with them till I die. LOL
Well Stuwee just think if the Onix isn't my best CDP and the Shandling is what it must sound like. LOL

Glad to hear good impressions on the Onix Stuwee.... It's nice to know that I have not been the only other person in the world that has been living under a rock with crap CDP's. Hey, it's a whole new world and we are part of it now!!! :D

You guys haven't tried the external DACs and Anti-jitter yet. There is still a different world out there. I guess I'm going to have to see what it sounds like W/O the other things.

Stu, the reason that one is a loaner and not yours is that the 24bit/96khz upsampling rate produces whit noise, so its at the lower rate, when you switch to the higher sampling rate it gets even better!!!! Your CD-3 will be switchable between the two. It's gonna get nothing but better.

All I can say right now to that is...NO SHIT SHERLOCK !!!!

I'm flummoxed, bewitched, bothered and bewildered! I can't imagine a fancy DAC hooked up on top of this. Tonight I'm planning a Spongle'd, Bjork'd fest thanks to my good buddies Lee and Paul  :faroah:

The neighbor's in back (our house's are very close) have allready started to party this afternoon...thump...thump...thump...I'll show them what real music is! Hehe, to bad I promised to stay sober for Jim

I have a bunch of new music. I think I'll change the transport and listen to my speakers before I send them to Lee. LOL

:diabloanifire: :thin: :diabloanifire: You GO BOY!! Light those puppies up!! I might have to put the fan on the Yammie tonight, it's starting to get a little warm

I do miss that sweet Marantz 3 martini tone in the system, but this Onix has a warm tone, kinda tube like if you will, does anyone else think so?

Playing the remaster of "Rumours" right now, dang if the drum kit isn't lifelike  and Stevie Nicks voice on the slabs :angel13: :angel4: :3some: gives me a stiffy!!

Maybe its just what the difference is between a 200.00 CDP and a 1000-1500.00CDP.

I didn't know you could till these.
Same with me a cdp was a cdp, and it's not just that these listed for $1,500, anyone can charge that for a 'high end' anything, these baby's are built!! And when you look inside, those parts mean bid-Ness baby!

Earlier I played 'Free Your Mind' ~ EnVogue, the Wreck Remix, I had to back down the bass on the pre, the slabs woofs were starting to bottom out, I've never had them do that before, ever, and the panels zinging the cowbell and tamborine Oooooo piss shivers, and I don't like the song just the experience was wicked!! I better shut up, the Thorens is lookin' at me funny
