SP 12 SE

266.00, that's it. Done , going to bed. Gotta work today.

Well we did it w/o having to go to the jerk again. LOL Or you did it. When you go no holes barred on a PL how far are you willing to go? I have been thinking on it. Who has a CNC that can make a face plate minus 3 holes. Get rid of a few things. Leave just the meters.

Yup, you know how the rest of the movie goes Lee. Glad you found and fixed it. You can let us know what the root cause was when you get off work since it wasn't the loose B+ wire. You lasted longer than I did last night, you lost me at about 2AM EST.

BTW, what is that Audio Barrier stuff on the floor of the preamp?

Larrt will havwe to let you know on that. Noise suppression is my guess.
The LR8's die pretty easily. When swapping resistors in and out if you stay a second to long on the heat if a resistor is on the same pad even it can toast it. I'm used to boards that take solder a little better also. I believe the original root cause was a cold solder joint. Then as I startewd swapping resistors killed the LR8, then a probe short got the TIP 50. Ten another LR8 died of heat exhaustion, and then things got worse. But it's all good now. Will have it on thew AP this afternoon. Gotta study up on pre-amp testng.

They just put it under the boards. Noise was the only thing I could think of. Did not ask because really didn't feel comfortable asking to many questions. I wasn't trying to jerk you around. I was just joking.

Audio Barrier Bulk Kits are designed to eliminate metal vibrations that are caused by everything from the engine, drive train, the road or even the speakers. Use the Audio Barrier Bulk Kits to cover the metal panels and floors and it will eliminate the vibrations while creating a "barrier" from the outside noisy environment!

This is one of the descriptions on a web site that sells this material. It is meant for attenuating mechanical vibration.

Well, that IS noise suppresion!!

Output of the TIP 50 264.8 Time to button this puppy up.

To get that I had to use a 300K, a 22K and a 1K in series.

Yeah the bias current of the LR8 screws up the accuracy along with the resistor tolerance.
