I bought this player for the living room TV. It is a Wifi component so I will be using it for internet TV. It plays CD, DVD, on the DVD it converts it to HD. Also does Blue Ray and 3D.

All I have to do is link it to the channels I already have. Only bad thing is you can't watch the same channels on the other tvs at the same time. I have Hulu Plus and Amazon and Netflix. I can watch TV shows the next day. Movies out the ying yang. My guys came by. I turned on the the TV in the sound room. The watched a concert of Moody Blues for 2 hours. They thought it was live the pic and sound was so good. When I told them it was over the internet they freaked. LOL

Hi Larry,

For Christmas, my son bought us the Sony BP-S480. I had been using a Sony PS3 gaming console for my Blu-Ray player for the past few years, until I had an issue I can't resolve in playing any discs in it. Sony Tech support couldn't help, but I may try harder to have it repaired.

We watch Netflix often, and like you, I want to dump my present cable TV provider once a competitor completes the fiber optic network in my area.

Nando.

My sons PS3 is pretty much the main source of the family's entertainment. Nexflix, Hulu. I sometimes rent movies from iTunes though, which is great because they usually have the movies that netflix doesn't.

The US most of the feed is across fiber optic trunk lines; but not up to or into your house. So I asked them while they were doing it once. What good is it to have fiber optics if it isn't into my house. Isn't it like taking a 48 inch pipe then running a 2 inch into my house?. The guy told me I have a point. I'm doing about 2.7 mps in the house at the moment.

I love the movie Harvey. So we watched last night. Haven't seen it in a long time. I can relate to it. LOL
