By not smoking in the house I miss out on a lot of music. Is there a filtration filter I can buy or build so I can smoke in my sound room?

Or I need to pipe in the music into the garage. My house is 50 feet long. So it would be a long run. If I'm going to do that. Might as well wire the whole house. HMMMMMMMM

Why not put a fine stereo in your garage? That's what I do. It is an excuse to have another setup and more gear as well.

I do have an old HK system in here just no speakers. I could bring the 12.2s in here.

That is what I would do, keep it simple, this is a good place for a receiver, radio isn't always the best but it gives you the freedom of not having to load other music.

As a general rule smoking ruins all filters.

All smokers eventually quit. The other day I glanced at the advertisement at the local gas station; a pack of cigs were going for a few cents under $5. I was stunned! As a non-smoker, I don't pay attention but I do remember seeing cartons for sale for $10 at the Navy base and I thought that was alot.

So if someone smokes a pack a day, that is $1825.00 a year. To me, that is half a set of Klipsch's, a pretty nice used preamp on Ebay, or all of Lee's busted 700's and 400's. Something to think about.

I do live in a tobacco state. Just think of all the tax revenue that would be lost if everyone stopped smoking. My wife quit smoking. That is why I don't smoke in the house. How much is a 12 pack. I quit drinking years ago. Trust me my beer cost more than my cigarettes. Telling me to quit smoking is very PC. I'm not PC in any way shape or form. I am an adult. My Dr. advised me to quit till I asked what do I do then. Quit eating meat or what. What is the next intrusion into my life. He smiled and laughed. He under stood what I was saying. He spent 10 years in an Afghan prison for his beliefs. Not all advice is asked for or needed. I'm not jumping on you. I'm just saying how I feel. I would save 90.00 a month on my cigs if I quit. I would save a lot more if I quit buying audio components. Just my shipping alone in one week is more than that. There are 2 sides to every coin. Yes I should stop smoking. Do I want to? No.

I'm not mad. Have a good day. This is just my opinion.

I like it complicated in the garage. Triamping now, fairly large box speakers and subs. CD, separate DAC, tuner and turntable. I like it as I can do what I want, when I want, and changes are easy and require no input from the SO.

My garage is very crowded at the moment. It is very busy. I run a hepa filter to try and keep the dust down. I like my door open I didn't think of the 12.2s in there.

Just thinking out loud. The garage/workshop might be a good place for an x-amp system, small, not in the way and good quality sound, I tend to lean towards indoor/outdoor speakers in harsher environments.

In my shop I made an input into my system for trying out things that I might be working on, inputs for any component (not a lot) and speaker outputs as well as a way on the front to run another amp throught the speakers and soutputs.

Only part of it, the switching unit if i remember correctly is a Niles.

The Nak is a 630 tuner preamp.

I have a Nak 610 hooked to my computer, it is one of the few Pre's made specifically for taping.

Old Picture.
