Hey ho!!

Hoping this is the right subforum to post in, I'm fairly new to these sorts of websites (all I've used is Reddit pleasedontkillmeforthat).
Anyhow. I got my hands on a GE 3-5479A cassette player recently, and I'm working to repair it and fix it up a tad, but I cannot for the life of me find a service manual or user's manual anywhere. Y'all are my last hope - anyone out there got a manual you can offer up? It'd mean the world to me and help me finally finish this repair project lmao.

I'll take this post to another subforum if needed, just let me know if I'm in the wrong spot or not.

Post pictures of the deck and its problems. We can probably figure it out.

I'm fairly confident it's just the belt that's broken, considering the radio works fine and the player part functioned perfectly for a few minutes before the tape stopped spinning. I've worked a couple of screws out, but a lot of 'em are rusted in place and I need to get some WD40 or something so I can replace them. I just can't get into it properly so I replace the belt + I have no idea what size belt it needs.

These "Walkman" players are a nightmare and only the very high-end ones are supported by the aftermarket, since the cost to repair is about 10X the value of the repaired item...

Get it open, loop some string to determine length and we can go from there.

Noted. It might take a bit lol I've been fighting the screws to get 'em out, but I'll keep prying

Absolute strangest update to this: I was working at getting the screws out again and managed to open it enough to see the belt and just run it back and forth and. It was entirely intact + worked perfectly after I rolled it around a bit.
I'm kinda baffled but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Y'all were so kind!! I'm saving all your advice for when I keep polishing this thing up lol
