So this guy here was something I did awhile back. I bought a JBL powered subwoofer thinking it probably could be an easy fix on the amp. Turned out it was an amp I.C. that they didn't make anymore. In the meantime I had ordered and replaced the crossover on the old Infinity SM's I had. The old crossover had a blown cap in the tweeter circuit, but the low pass for the woofer was fine. So I ripped the guts out of the JBL sub, and threw in the low pass woofer crossover components from the Infinity.
So tonight I figured I would try another test with the X-Amp. Here's the deal.. Right now I have the Carver preamp doing that duty, and the Nak AV-1's amp section doing the main amp duty for left and right. It just so happens that the Nak has a mono preamp output, so I shot that over to one of the X-Amps and have that feeding the JBL sub. I use the volume control on the Nak to control the sub level.
Did it work? Well, I got this not 20 seconds into the first song (was a tune by Bass Mekanic, hehe)... from the "SHE"...
Heheh.. guess the Neal Peart Drum Solo is going to have to wait until tomorrow.
