some call them homebrew, i like to call them mystery speakers, you know, the ones you find here and there that are clearly home made. well today at work one of my scrapper friends dropped by with this thing, that he found in the trash. whenever i see a pair of mystery speakers, i always scoop them up, cause you never know what could be inside. eather a realistic whizzer cone pos or something really nice, so i cracked the back and heres what i found inside..
hidious ugly thing beat to crap..
but.....
utah celesta time capsule inside!!
gotta love the homebrew bass port made of old newspaper! the chicago daily news from 1971. seems like this speaker is older than 1971 though.. *grin*
too bad its only one. wish i had a pair! *fit*
still fun though. i love these homebrew mystery jobs. no two are ever alike. people put there own personal touches in each one. i have another pair of mystery speakers from the late 1960s that use old tupperware containers as small enclosures for the mids and highs, and they are stuffed with old rags as insolation! haha. -little time capsules. i love it!
