I have no outputs on the tube amp at all. The only thing I can think of to record on the tube rack is run a CDP with a digital out into the tubes and the analog into the tape deck. I don't even have a headphone hook up.

Well, that's a sweet combination. It's amazing what time and effort in detailing can do for these old stereo pieces. I know the 7s were quite an undertaking, but you did a fabulous job on bringing them back to life.

Lil' bit confused here too. So ok, you have the tubes right? What input(s) and what kind? Sounds to me like just digital from your description, but that can't be right, eh?

Well it would, but why don't you use the dbx program selector you have already? Same principle.. which is to take many line level inputs, add a tape loop here and there, and allow you to switch sources for a single analog input. Nothing stopping you from hooking the DAC's output to any of the dbx's tape loops... same level, as long as it's not phono level right?

So.. something like this ...

CDP->DAC->dbx (any loop will do ya)->main input.

Then
DBX-Tape input then tape output to amp.
No it would be

I have thought about this a bunch of times. LOL This is as far as I get. I'll try it this week. What we will go through just to get the set up we want. LOL

Sure, stuwee. I'll snap off a few pictures and a bit of history on how I found it, later.
