OK.... Kevin got a remote control with his Onix CD-3, and now I have been outdone....and we don't do that. Kevin has Linus Array speakers. I have them. Kevin had Hafler amps. I had them. Kevin has Phas Linear amps, and I have them. I think you get the picture. He recently got his Onix CD-3, and I have one, but he got a remote with his, and I have none. This is really serious...I mean REALLY SERIOUS> I MUST HAVE AN ONIX REMOTE. If you have one, and would sell it or trade for it, let me know...

I will search the world over til I find one...

Thank you...

ps.....Did I explain how serious this is?

I think they were both CD-3 models, if I'm understanding your question...

I will continue the search for the remote. One day one will turn up, even if one has to buy a non functioning CDP just to get the remote. I want one almost that bad, and I haven't even seen his yet, but he described it to me. Kevin is thrilled to say the least. He says it blows his Denom CDP all to hell, and I'd say it does.

Yep, we've been audio buds for decades. I know that as long as I can remember when I get a "permanent" component, Kevin will get it too, and like the Linus, we built them at the same time. Wish we had done the same thing with subs. He has an awesome one and I don't. We've built quite a few for friends and I have the amp, MDF, driver and even a couple of plate amps that I was going to use, but now I'm guessing it will have to be a regular amp, and not a plate amp...as I have learned a bit since then..If I knew the T/S parameters for the Lambda drivers I have, it would make it easier...but I will probably end up guessing on enclosure size. One Kevin's, we built it to the T/S parameters, and then ended up cutting it down in size..and I don't know if the driver had not fully broken in when we did it, or exactly what the deal was, but I know now the thing rocks, and he will get telephone calls from his parents to turn it down....and they live at least a couple of hundred yards away from Kevin's house...You can see the pictures bouncing on the walls...and I don't know how many have come off the wall...

I think we still one of each left in stock.
CD-10 & CD-15
They were used as display models at previous shows.

Done. I guess it is only 8 am in California, but he'll have a phone message when he arrives at work, and this thread, if he check in here. Hope I can get the unit. How does the CD-10 stack up against the CD-3 which I have? Does it need to be "treated"? I hope it is a great unit, and hope the remote is the same as the CD-3 if not as good or better....The silver would match the PL stacks a little better...but It'll have to sound as good or better to take the spot from the 3..

Hugh is a gentleman and a true professional. Wonderful man. I can not wait to receive the CD-10. Will I need to upgrade opamps lee? I want it to be in the same league as the CD-3 which you upgraded. If so, can you provide the Mouser part numbers I will need, or if you have them in stock, sell them to me?

I can't wait to get my hands on the remote control wither as this is what started this hunt. I hope I am getting a CDP with potential to sound as good, if not better than the 3. Hugh stated that the 10 is a third generation product, where the 3 is a first generation player, os I hope there is upside potential, but perhaps Onix has already optimized the player with the best opamps and other parts. I'm anxious to learn and to listen !! Thanks all..

Sutton, all I did to yours was fix the transport. The electronics isb untouched. That one had Burr-Brown op-amps in it already. We'll have to wait and see what they come with.

The CD-10 was a dealer demo, but comes with box, remote, and all the paperwork. I paid $309 for her. I think the regular price is something like $775.00 or something. I read the specs and the CD-10 and CD-15 look identical. Same specs, same opamps, same transport, same weight. Unless it is a typo, they look to be identical decks on the inside. I know the CD-10 is silver and the CD-15 is black, and the tray is located in different places, but I really don't know what to expect. Are there any differences in the CD-3 and the CD-10? There have to be differences, I just don't know what they are.
