Pop and a fizzle

I do have one left from the last build. Do a diode and transistor check to make sure you have nothing else blasted.

Diode d1 still works but the body of the diode is burnt, everywhere else looks good. don't know if I can test the actual IC

If the diode is burnt, the IC is suspect, done it a few times myself...

Looks like it just got some debris from the burning resistor. If it still checks out, it may be good.
