Guys, I have asked all Admins and Mods to weigh in on deleting the Political Rant Forum. It's getting pretty toxic, and I HATE seeing my friends talking to each other like they are doing in there.
I believe there are forces at work in this country that are using every little excuse to foment chaos and civil disobedience, and NOT in the normal "right to protest" form. Paid protesters, fake news, partially fake news, extremely biased reporting etc. My fear is that as this chaos and anarchy increase we will get bleed over into this forum. THAT is making me uncomfortable. I think it takes away what we have established here and and ultimately is detrimental to everything we are trying to do here.

I'm really of two minds on this. We have been pretty lax in letting people vent and rave, thinking it was harmless and we were mature enough to deal with it, but I think what is happening in this country is bringing out very passionate opinions on most every subject. I've always felt we could say what we felt , no matter what, ( with VERY loose interpretation on that), but lately guys, this place is losing what has made it special. I find myself judging people based on what they are ranting on and that ain;'t like me. It's affecting me too.

What are your thoughts on this fellers??

Political discussions always seem to lead to arguments, anger, and hurt feelings. No matter where. Maybe it is time to put a stop to it once and for all.

At the end of the day it is an audio forum. Do what you guys feel is right for the forum.

Political and religious divides have no place in audio discussions....IMO. I like everyone's opinions and such, but when it starts to become negative, it does take away from the overall health of the community.

Doesn't matter to me as I seldom set foot in there. In life as well as in politics I am center of the road, so I dont side with the extreme left or extreme right points of view and that is pretty much all that goes on in there.

I did just go in and read the last page or so and yeah it is getting far too carried away in there. It is ok to have you own point of view but you should also respect others rights to have their own points of view without belittling or threatening them.

Any politically-slanted threads have developed into deep divisions on this forum. It's unfortunate, but one's critical thinking getting mired in a slough of profanity and jabs at members, isn't going to impress others, even those on the sidelines like myself, and evoke an even stronger response by respondents. I bet a few members have revealed a side of themselves, which others will keep in mind.

Eliminate any political-related threads and those members who want to can take it up on Facebook, or whatever social media will take them.

Nando.

Ye Red Knight expects not to regret the loss of this thread of discussion, and by the bye, your humble servant should not be thought of as a leftist or, God forbid it, a communist. My noble patron, the Black Knight, would vouchsafe for me, I am certain.

Very few Conservative Christians pose nude, I could see Palin on a stripper pole though

Ditto. I took a vacation from this place earlier this year because of the crap. I had better things to do with my time.

I'm of the same mind as Nando. Take it over to Facebook. This is the VERY reason I don't look at Facebook any longer, it's all political. Kill off the thread. Makes no difference to me.
It kills me to think how people will say/write/post things, that they'd never say to anyone's face in polite society.
