Yes but only 2 of the 4 pots are in circuit . Why have the other two pots ? So 4 channel mode is actually dual stereo I was thinking the 4 pots on the joystick were for the four outputs R,L,RR,LL.

No, it's the mechanical couping that makes the total balance .
You move the 2 pots at the same time .Move the shaft of the joystick in corrispondance
of the four arrows and you can see the movements of the shafts of the pots .
Simply smart and " diabolic" ! Don't worry at the beginnig I did not understand the "tricK" .
It works very well and it's precise .
Ciao

I think I get this . The L & R are wired to one pot and the LL &RR are wired to the other pot . So when you move it to the R the pot turns down the left leaving the R . Same with the LL, RR of course you need to use all 4 outputs to have the joystick work with all four arrow postions .The two not used pots not good for the bottom line ,but you have two spares if needed . All back together plays well . I was using dbx SF 150's but I still could here 4000's features. Once I get rid of the VU shadow bar on the WOPL 400 (new post) I'll get into some critical listening trying different speakers.
