PL 36 Gerbers File

Hello Does anyone have a Gerbers File for the PL 36 board layout
 
Probably for sure lol. I see you can convert a PDF to a Gerber file tho??
 
Send the PDF file to the circuit board builders, they can likely use it to build a gerber file. AND then politely ask for a copy of the gerber file and share it here...
 
I started learning eCAD this past winter, but have temporarily paused due to summer.
While reading I did see references to "send the OEM board and we'll copy it", and posts about scanning the board in a flat bed scanner, PDF files, Gerber files, etc.
Is it possible to scan a board and generate Gerber files? Possibly. I never followed the threads.

Much more cost effective to just purchase the upgrade board and get rid of that old, unreliable circuit design.
 
Greg, I've three of the White Oak Audio Design control boards, in three amps. Top quality and work flawlessly. Add Phoenix Contact Connectors and the board is easy to install or remove in the future when the rest of those old components need servicing.

Listen to these two guys. They are 100% correct.
 
At the risk of opening myself up to considerable criticism, I take issue with the fact the PL36 was unreliable. It's now 40+ years old and there's still tons of amps out there running that haven't seen a repair shop. Does it have issues? Yes. Anybody 40 years old has issues. Some of the issues were the people who put them in PA's without adequate fans. When the issues popped up sometimes the amps ate speakers.

Is Joe's board a vast improvement? Yes, and it will keep those amps running for years and years until the electrolytics fail and some day they will fail. Will we fault the design then? I hope not. Anything that gets used on a regular basis needs periodic maintenance. Abuse it for 40 years and you get what you deserve.

Well that's definitely the age that I started falling apart, eyes, hearing, stamina, memory, etc.
I've had a wonky OFF switch since birth....especially if you add a little alcohol, definitely a bad design.
Maintenance you say? That's for wussies....lol
 
Well I am a traditionalist and want to keep the PL 36 alive I am looking into getting the PL 36 ( just the cct board replicated no hard ware ) if any one is interested I have reached out to many suppliers to see what the end $$ is
Only thing I may modify is to have the option of a Multipin PCB connectors for the interconnects
