Pioneer SX-1250 Receiver

Just picked up a SX1250 & SX1050 yesterday for 300.Both units appear to be in nice cosmetic condition need a good cleaning and will need to be repaired I didn't think that was too bad of a price for the pair

Chris: Amazing you can still find those receivers at such a discounted price. Did you buy both from the same seller?

Nando.

That was a great score Chris. In good shape they go for a lot more - hell on eBay you can sell a cosmetically challenged 1250 or 1050 for some decent money. It will be interesting to hear what sort of issues these two have.

The SX-1250 is one great receiver. I have fully restored mine and it really sounds good. Really good...worth every hour of work done. There is a good thread over at AK about recapping these, and it includes a couple dozen transistors that need to be replaced with better, lower noise units.
After I did that to mine it was a different receiver. It went from meh, ok...to KICK ASS. :happy6:
I got mine for a very, very nice price...it was in the trash across the street about 15 years ago.

Yes Nando I purchase them from the same seller. I originally called on a pair of Pioneer DSS 9 . That he had for sale a little while later he calls me back with the offer on the two receivers so I bought them all.The DSS 9 were for a good friend of mine who had listen to mine and had to have a pair. I don't know why.As for the receivers I have some stuff out being restored right now so it'll be a little bit before I get to them. The seller gave me a PL 600 for free. No dust cover are headshell but it does work.I spend a lot of time looking for gear. Sometimes you don't find much but other times you find a truck load.and I have found a lot of really nice gear over the last 5 years
