The C 4000 does not suffer from MOST of the originals shortcomings, someone could get a deal on that one.

Here are some pics of the 707 now that I have done a few small repairs: Replaced some bulbs and a counter belt. Looks pretty sweet with the Pioneer take- up reel mounted and sitting on some fresh feet(Thanks Nando and Lee!).

Douglas: Nice deck! I think the spoked Pioneer take-up reel is one of the best looking out there for that model deck. Thanks for the pictures. It's great to be able to help members out when possible.

Damn! That thing is looking nice now Doug. Wouldn't even think it was the same deck.

Thank You Douglas

A public thank you to Douglas for promptly paying me for the Pioneer PR-85 metal take-up reel he purchased. He paid me for more than I had asked for and, as well, enclosed a pair of vintage sealed Sony UX 90 cassettes for me to use. A real class act, as many of the members here have shown in my recent dealings with them.

As a side note, I had quickly relinquished my Pioneer take-up reel to Douglas believing I had two NOS ones still in the box. But they were PR-80s - nice ones, but not the spoke-style PR-85. Not to worry, as I had a credit at Innovative Audio and another Pioneer PR-85 metal take-up reel has been set aside for me by Susan.

Nando.
