Zach, if reading from where he left off this thread will be bummed after folks called him the winner but Tony will be happy...
Indeed, but not too bummed. Hey, easy come, easy go.

Congratulations to Tony!

Thanks to Lee for sponsoring the contest in the first place.

I'm not a gambler, so I never get this type of excitement. It was almost as exciting digging through this thread after having the "NO WAY" moment. Turns out my initial thought was right. C'est la vie!

It's just as well, I started putting the WO board in my 700B yesterday. Soon... And I recently bought a 400 to restore as well, so I'm good there. I don't think either is getting "the works" though.

Also, thanks for all of the congratulations, even if they were misguided. :)

I just wished comments would make the rounds at other audio forums like " I sold my $15K power amplifier to get a WOPL 400 and a second car after I got kicked to the curb in an Amp Shootout! What's in those 400s any way?"

Nando.
That's a thread I'd like to see on AK. I have the feeling that it would develop into a shitstorm with people who think more with their wallet then their ears crying foul (brand loyalty blindness). Got to do a official shootout w/ high dollar comparable wattage amps and the best way is to let an independent mag w/ a large audience and no "beholdings" to other companies do it. A favorable review would get this off like a Saturn V rocket

Ron: Owners of Phase Linear 400, 700 B amps can take pride in knowing with the upgrades, created and made available by members here, these amps can compete with the best. Anyone appreciates an underdog. And any of us reading Lee's rebuild threads can see the numbers before and after the rework. But with notoriety comes demand - let's hope this benefits us.

I think Joe has plans for that........Joe goes at a pace which customer service does not overwhelm his time. Everyone WE can help leaves more time for him to create, which, as we've seen can be very good indeed.
It was actually pretty funny yesterday. It wasn't just Steve and thinking the 400 was bêtter, but everyone else who heard it. The Rowland sounded compressed and muffled
compared to the WOPL. Not words usually associated with Rowland I suspect.

And I still did not hear anything yesterday that I would trade my K's for, not even his. GONNA HEAR A LOT MORE SYSTEMS tomorrow, so we'll see. Steve is very interested to hear mine.

That will be an interesting test , the TA's are no slouch..... Tony, the pig is going home with us and I'm going to transfer the copper heatsinks from the Pig to yours, so it should be a quick turn around. Joe's cap kit is on the way so no major fab work has to be done. Just wire in some stuff and it will be ready.
