I'm not in an acquisition phase - in fact, I have a few components up for consignment sale. But, it sure looks tempting.

There are a few Pioneer components just arrived at IA, but those aren't mine. I have two cassette decks for sale at IA: Aiwa AD-F660 and JVC KD-A8C.

Cassette Decks – Innovative Audio (iavscanada.com)

I am working with the store owner/technician at The Turntable Shop to do a few sales and apply the credit towards a few pieces he has at the store. I have my Mitsubishi LT-30 and Thorens TD-160C going up for sale after a check-over and have my eye on a few other rarities - a '60's vintage Marantz SLT-12 turntable and a pair of hand-built Jumetite CR 610 speakers. There was a Sutherland Engineering 20/20 phono preamp there, but it may have sold a couple of days ago.

Hi Nando - Very nice indeed - And when i arrive at Innovative Audio in person don't hide all of the good stuff!!!

Like yourself i am attempting to downsize some of my goodies, and further other purchases of one sort or another - Currently adding a multi fuel burner and a gas combination boiler to my youngest daughters boat ( New home acquisition ...... sigh )

@ Bob: Yesterday, Nick of The Turntable Shop called me. The prospective buyer for the Sutherland Engineering 20/20 phono preamp didn't buy it, so it's still available. However, the Marantz SLT 12 linear tracking turntable is set aside for me for the next time I'm in. Nick serviced the Dual 701 turntable, I brought in, so it's ready for pick up. I passed on the Jumetite CR 610 speakers @ $2500.

Here are pictures of them:

These speaakers were built in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and a few patents are held by the engineer who designed them. I was able to contact one of the co-workers who built the speakers to get more info on them.

@ Shaun: There has been lots of silver-faced Pioneer gear come into IA, as of late. And it sells quickly. A second pairing of a Spec 2 power amp and Spec 1 preamp is available and the Pioneer SX-1980 receiver, with original factory packing carton, which was listed @ $11K a short time ago, just sold.

It's getting pretty tempting for me to sell my own SX-1980.

What are those massive console speakers to the left Nando?

Not sure which models those might be, Joe. Anyone else know? In my second photo you can see the manual for the speakers sitting upside-down on the top of the cabinet.

Don't know what you have in your SX-1280 (edit: should be 1980) but unless I was using it regularly, as in my main amp/preamp, $12K would tempt me severely...

And I'm happy with my Phonomena II phono preamp but I know the Sutherlloand is highly regarded. If I was going to be interested in anything up there, it would be your Thorens 160 as I thnk it's not as deep as my VPI and might fit on my oak bookshelves, which the VPI doesn't. I know that flies in the face of all things absolute sound, but I've always liked that look from the 60s where the turntable and receiver and maybe a tape deck are lined up across a credenza or some similar piece of furniture instead of these clinical-looking equipment racks we now have.

The issue would be getting it safely from your place to mine - that's a lengthy diagonal to have to traverse without damage so I'll stick with what I have.

The Thorens TD 160 C is a good turntable, but I haven't ever had a Dual tt in my main system. I used a number of other Duals in my downstairs' systems and I have a beautiful Thorens TD 125 MK II, with new arm and cartridge, I regularly use.
