This is the full haul from my purchase. 16 units in total including a walnut case and 12 new factory packaged transistors. I'm obviously getting ahead of myself, but any recommendations for my next subject?

No... It's really an 8 fin. I just have two of the fins off to the side. It will be back to an 8 fin configuration tonight.

Earlier Gene was asking about a 4 fin he saw on eBay that you all recommended he steer clear from. Now Gene is asking about converting his 4 fin to an 8 fin since the 8 fin seem to be the preferred setup. My comment was that doesn't change anything about what's inside... It's only an indication from the outside telling you what to expect on the inside.

I doubt you could easily convert the 4 to an 8 but the number of fins does matter when it comes to cooling.

yep, and our biggest enemy in amp building/cranking is heat. Ditch the 4 fin and there are an abundance of 8 fin donors all over the place. It's just getting rid of the one big worry you'll always have with that amp. When I build an amp, it gets a lifetime warranty but if I was to build a 4 fin, it would get enough warranty to make it to the customers house, and expire after 5 minutes after plugging it in.

I do most by commission but I HAVE sold many online. I just finished #7 WOPL for a great customer. I built him about the same number of Pre's too
What pre's are you typically building? I have a PL2000, 3000, and 3300 that I bought with the intention of merely recapping with direct replacements with upgraded voltage. I also have a C1, a C2, and an Acurus RL11 that I believe I picked up on Joe's recommendation. I want to build two or three systems and then sell the rest.
