That's terrible news George, I'm sorry that happened to you. Life is a bitch and keeps throwing things at us sometimes. I see the scum in this world growing and it just makes me want to stay inside away from it all.

On the other hand there are also some good people, they keep me going, gets me outside.

It's a sad world we're forced to live in these days.
Respect is fast becoming a long lost quality. It had value once, and now it's a weakness. Go figure....
I rarely go out nowadays. It's just not safe, but I did have a heap of medical and dental appointments coming up over the next two months, and now I'm at risk of being unable to make 'em, and get put back at the end of the waiting list. Wot a bugger...

Well, someone tried to steal my little car last week, and because they couldn't get past the steering lock, they obviously thought if they couldn't drive it, then neither could I, so they absolutely trashed the inside.
It's a wreck now, and I'm way beyond despair and grief.
Just went and had a proper look at it earlier today with a mate, and I'll be hard pressed to fix this one. Just can't afford it.

Back to public transport.....

I caught someone breaking into one of my cars parked outside, after midnight, during Easter. I was lucky because I was having trouble sleeping that night, I heard a noise and went outside to check it out, I approached the thief and he ran away before he had a chance to steal anything or cause any further damage. I had to get the drivers window replaced and clean up the broken glass. It could have been a lot worse!

I think u and I have been both pretty lucky to still have our cars, and not have some cop ringing us up telling us they've found a burnt out wreck in some field somewhere...

Do you have any idea of how much it's going to cost to get your car fixed, or if it's beyond economic repair?

I don't think it'll cost much if anything.
I can do wot needs to be done myself once I'm a little more mobile again in a day or so.
Basically just need to reconnect a bunch of pulled wires.
The rear window that they broke into, remained intact, and only the latch holding it has been popped.
I've now got an external steering wheel lock to put on today, so that may help in being a physically visible deterrent.

Hi everybody…..

Well, I'm celebrating today.
Found out yesterday my lung cancer [three tumours] is 99% GONE!
Took 8 months of chemo and radio therapy and then extra ongoing [for the rest of my life] chemo using a new drug called Nivolumab once a fortnight, but I'm 'almost' done.
Some unpleasant side effects for another few months, but the worst is over, and I'm elated to re-join the land of the living once again.
Just thought I'd mention it…..

…. and yes, I did receive the Xmas mailing, but it was during the peak of 'unwellness' and still haven't gotten around to even opening it up! Sorry.

I had nearly lost my battle at one stage, as the first chemo didn't work neither did the radio therapy and neither did the second round of chemo after the radio therapy.
This new stuff I had to really fright to get onto the 'trial' list, but I'm so glad I persisted as the other 20 people haven't had the success I've had. It's only worked on 20% of the patients, and I've had the most rapid and successful result so far. Lucky me!
I really feel for the others. There's nothing worse than getting your hopes up, only to fail.

It's great to be up and about….
Not 100% yet, but a lot better than wot I was. At least I can motivate myself into getting up and communicating with people, but it's something that I'm gradually sliding back into.
So D, is that second nurse available for house calls? I wouldn't mind the first one either, but I've got a thing against teddy bears after I sent a bunch of flowers and a teddy to someone for Valentine's Day today, and she threw 'em all in the bin, [long story, I'll save for another time], so excuse me if I'm not too chirpy today. Just proves my theory that people that are paid to be nice to you, are only nice to you because they're being paid! I guess I should've just sent a blank cheque instead. Might have had more of the desired effect I was after.
