I just noticed something that seems pretty odd. If you have "A Valid Path", listen to the "Mammagamma '04" song.

Now watch the excursion on your woofers, very carefully... Think about how much excursion you're seeing versus how much sound's coming out.

For me... I think I see way more than it should be. In fact, it's almost like it's some sort of very VERY low frequency artifact. I had to compare it to heavier bass tunes to be sure.. I don't see as "much" excursion on the other tunes, but hmmm... something is different..

What do you see and hear?? Maybe if I can get a hold of a movie cam, I can show ya...

I think he is referring to Adrian Peterson? There is another lesser know Alan somebody or something though. :cyclops:

Yeah, but I'd like someone else to try it and see. Compare that song to another like Tijuaniac, which has some good lows to it too.. BUT... it's not pushing the excursions like Mammagamma '04 is. It's like an "easter egg" sorta... I wonder if it was deliberate..

Try it and see, if you have the album! I'm curious to see what others see here..

'A Valid Path' was never issued on Lp, I have the CD it's a must have!! I ....er...Dale blew the woofers on the Martin Logan's on that song (no small feat), I think the Yamaha was pushing some MAJOR current at the time, I heard the surrounds pop,I was PISSED oFF big time!! Cost me $145 a piece to replace them, there's a thread on tapeheads of the replacement, Sir Alan had a heavy hand in the 25hz fader on the board on that recording, wicked is too kind of a word for the sound of that CD, I'd love to hear what Lee can do to his beloved speakers on that with 1,000+ from the PL

It's not the watts, it's the energy from the synergy that wrecks the havick!! Everyone should have this CD!!!!!!

I have a 15hz and 30 hz filter on the Spec 1, after the White Oak upgrades I only have the 15 hz engaged now.

Lee, I'd still use caution on this recording, it's not for the faint of heart, you can hurt something, Parsons don't suffer no fools with this stuff

On the same token, if'n you're fully loaded while listening, expect to be blown away baby!!

If ever there was a Mach 7/9/ recording, this is it!!! Enjoy the magic :reindeer:
