Oil on the (downward slide) upward climb...

Right now refinery output should be set toward more heating oil so I can see the bottom earlier. If you're really trying to break Russia a lot of OPEC output is going to Europe I would think or should. Gasoline will be back at $2.60 when the refineries start shutting down to switch formulations.
 
$2.49 here is Coventry. Still way above the National average (fucking Connecticut...)
 
Came thru Cheyenne this morning at 1 AM, saw 1.89 there, still 2.08 here
 
Don't feel so bad, Ron, it's around $2.50 here as well and Boise is the under $2 price leader (but who is driving 60 miles for that)?

Some Cap 'n Trade BS went into effect January 1st, so many of the bigger name stations haven't kept pace with further drops in price or in some cases, have even have gone up a tad.
I guess 'Arnold' signed some sh!t into law years back that finally kicked in. Cap 'n Trade like I said, meaning, oil companies doing business in California must sell cleaner burning fuels or face the penalty of buying carbon credits ... which they ultimately pass on to the consumer.

I paid $1.79 a gallon today and on top of that I used .30 cents off a gallon coupon. It wont last too long but it was nice to fill up for $15:toothy5:

I wonder how many of the greentard legislative critters who voted for carbon credits, taxes, and the like, really understood the carbon cycle? As per oil, it's about the money, and put a nice face on it, but screw the environment (and those who live in it). Carbon credits dispossess the people and make the rich get richer. End rant. For now.
 
They are claiming prices should stay pretty low through Summer. Just have to watch out for the errant butterfly flapping it's wings in the wrong place setting off some BS disaster halfway around the World

Speculators drive prices, I wish they all would take a dirt nap. I don't think energy prices should be so volatile based on the whims of money grubbing speculators who look for an excuse to drive prices up. I have never felt gas was worth more then a $1 a gallon based on the exhorbitant profits big oil has made over the last 30+ years. It's not like we are running out of fossil fuels anytime soon and the sooner we get less reliant on them, the better the World will be. No more Arabs with more money then sense

I don't see the demand being there Steve. People don't have money now as it is and are driving less these days anyway. I tell you know people will never accept $4 a gallon gas again here in the US. Holding back pumping of oil when there is plenty around just shows that oil producing nations are just as manipulative as the speculators. The only shortages are those man made by GREED

If gas stayed at $2-2.50 a gallon that would be ok with me

I don't feel sorry for Russia or any other country that relies on oil revenues to balance their books or finance their budgets, it's just more manipulation. That's shortsighted thinking and shows a weak industrial sector. What will they do when the oil runs out or more efficient fuels take their place? Riddle me that

We as a nation need to be self reliant on fuel, that will put an end to this stupid shit. If the railroads want the business to move it for our fracking and drilling brothers, they better lower their rates. They are already benefitting from lower prices as it is. Still plenty of reasonable profit to be made if they can keep corruption and money skimming out of the equation

With the rising undercurrent of people who are just tired of airline travel hassles, more people are returning to the road trip vacation. Summer demand is always high as the weather gives people the itch to wander and play with motorized toys.

There is a 30 (thirty) ct pop expected in the unbranded West Coast Spot Markets sometime next week as the pricing cycle rolls into next month. I don't know what day yet, but definitely next week. This will definitely affect non branded prices such as Costco, Sams Club, the no-name "Lucky Joes" gas type of market. So if you fill up at any of those places, I strongly recommend you do so by Sunday night in case it rolls on Monday.

Not sure yet what-if any-affect it will have on the branded (Shell, Unocal, BP, etc) prices.

The press is remarkably short sighted and knee-jerk reactive to call floors and ceilings on prices and I certainly don't place much faith in their calls.

Crude-and associated prices WILL jump again to 100+ in the not too distant future. Bringing prices back up with it. I think it and the 2016 Presidential Elections will definitely have an effect on each other.

I don't think most people fill-up early with any anticipation of a announced jump in prices.
Saving on a single tank of gas matters not ... saving on the continuous flow of 'fill-ups' for months & months does.
 
Ahhh...but when the price went over $3.00 the first time the cars were literally trying to play leapfrog!

It was like being the one guy who got gas in time for PURGATORY. You had to be extra careful to avoid them...it was only a relief for about a week and them I found myself as pissy as they had been by delay.

I knew it was coming, two major hurricanes and all kinds of restraint then BOOM...the market farted.

I might just be crazy or the rest are just mad that their little fantasies were raped.

Mock American rage, it never goes away.
