I don't believe there is any if much refining capacity on the islands...they get petroleum product transported to Hawaii. It's at least a couple thousand miles from the mainland I THINK...no pipelines.

You work at Fry's ?
Yes Tony, I've worked at Fry's for close to 5 years now, that's Fry's food and drug (Kroger is the parent company), not Frys electronics.

Not the most glamorous job but gives me the opportunity to make many people happy on a single work shift...in spite of my bitchy posts sometimes, I really am a nice guy :toothy5:

I love Fry's Stumeister.
The Electronics and the Grocery stores.
I wasn't aware Fry's got scooped up by Kroger.
Then I Googled and was shocked at the real scope of their reach ...

Kroger
Dillons
Fry's
King Soopers
Smith's

Food 4 Less

Damn !

Albertsons owns Safeway now so I'm delighted because I shopped there as a kid, and Lucerne dairy products are priced very NICELY.

I did not know about Smith's...Albertsons pretty much ran most competitors out of the area or bought them for years until Trader Joe's and Whole Foods got here (grumpy Idahoans called them California imports) and Winco (old Waremart) never had many problems with Albertsons, they are co-owned with Cub Foods I think.

I'm all about CHEAP FOOD, not a fanboy of stores.

Okay...West Texas Intermediate just made it's biggest daily gain since 2009 and closed at just over $29/bbl.

The word is that the Saudis will start cutting their output...are they on something or just having a fit of temporary insanity over rumors?

I think that even with Russia still screwing around there is nothing doing.

1.47 in the Western Subs in Minnesota, even less if you shop at Cub Foods (local food chain) offering gas discounts up to .20cts a gallon or Fleet Farm offering .05cts and their gas is usually .05Cts less than everybody in the Area,,I love it because I can now use premium in the Whale instead of Regular,,,with the exception of One person and his Family I don't really feel to bad about the price Of Gas as we should remember when we were paying 3.60cts a gallon a few years ago, and F--k- the Saudis and the rest of those Sand Ns
