Almost forgot that she came with the original packaging. Maybe a massive cardboard box is going to be the way it's gonna have to ship, unless that cabbage case is BIG.

Well the song seems to fit..

And then.. once it could see, it became self-aware. I tried unplugging it, but it stunned me with the "brown sound" out of the speakers at 100+db's .. made me shit myself.. :happy2:

Switch is in Nick, but gotta work on the dropper resistors (got them coming). The sensitivity on the meters isn't too bad at all, via what will become the -20db position. I get pretty good deflection at a moderate volume, but don't forget the 108db SPL rating on the CV's..

Jer - let us know what you do to change the meter sensitivity on this gal. In my stack of things to do I have a 400 Series II waiting and this will be very interesting to see the modification. Douglas will be happy with this I'm sure. Again - great job.

Here you go, Nav. Perfect fit almost (had to grind a little on the switch shaft).. 86K's per Joe's recommendation that are shunted when the switch is counter clockwise (basically 0db position). Difference in deflection is decent enough.

Now that she's all together, time for a 24 hour burn in followed by a final test battery. Then it's coming to Doug in a BEEG box.. with a pl box inside.. :hello1: Doug plz PM me your address, eh?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

Thank you so very much for all of your time and effort on this build, Jer! Very excited to be a WOPL owner and look forward to getting her in the system. Kudos to you and Gepetto on the sensitivity mod for those low- level listening sessions.

You bet, Doug. Getting every last bit of listening in before she's out the door tomorrow. Some Blues Traveler.. nice!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Phyllis

Another WOPL 500 is alive and kicking(hard). I am currently using a Yammie RX V995 as my pre and Phyllis is driving two pairs of Yamaha NS 637 3- ways the way are meant to be driven and it sounds wicked- good! At some point, I will be shuffling my gear and Phyllis will then get to push some Klipsch floorstanders. Kudos to Jer for hooking a brudder up! Mad props to this forum for all the dedicated kats that make our audio journeys so much fun.

Copper faceplate cover, 5- way binding posts and new RCA(XLR?) connectors are on the wish list to finish her up, but I may just save those goodies for the next build.
