In recent months when going to do recapping on some of my crap I noticed the lack of availability for my go-to capacitors (Nichicon FG, Muse, KW). My sources are Mouser and Digi-Key. Is this some kind of conspiracy or are regular electrolytic capacitors "good enough"?

I looked at threads on places like Audiodogma but I suspect audiophoolery......

Nichicon lost the workers that can make the 5mm and 6.3mm diameter caps and they are being discontinued across the line.

The world comes to a screeching halt every time commonly recommended parts go EOL over on ak. There are other suppliers.

I did not research if the caps you are mentioning are only 5 + 6.3mm and suspect not as there are other audio grade caps from Nichicon that can cover some of the loses. The UES being different, bipolar.

There may be other Nichs:

Audio Caps
KZ Premium-Muse
KA High Grade Hi Temp
FG High Grade-Muse below KZ
KT Standard Hi Temp below KA
KW Standard
FW Standard below KW
SW Small 7mm long
MW Miniature smaller than SW
ES Bi-Polar
DB.GB Bi-Polar for speakers to be dropped
