I think one of my favorite customized Pioneer open reel decks was the one Ben mentioned - an RT-909 which was finished in the Elite style with Urushi high gloss finish. And I believe the peak meters' lighting was in amber and red.

But when it comes down to it, I do like it just as it came from the factory.

Sometimes Lee, it's just a matter of having the right lighting to change the appearance of a deck. It sure cost a lot less than a custom refinish.
