A friend of mine got a new power amp in 1980, might have been a Bryston 4B, and it didn't have a power switch. The point was leaving the amp on at all times to avoid expansion/contraction from heating and cooling. At least that's what I read in the owner's manual.

I usually jump into an intro quickly but still recovering from Sat nite. Didn't even turn my rig or computer on yesterday. Don't feel like hitting the office today but hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go...

Seriously I do use it for that. It is not in the audio path but it is in the power path. Nice that they put all those switched and un-switched outlets on it.
