Hi all,

I heard a track on the local FM radio while at work. I pulled into a quiet area in the F-350 to listen to it.

I will be buying this album on vinyl once it's available.

Hey Nando, Sheeez, I love that last pic!!! Spooky cool :reindeer:, I always like them, then years ago when I lived with Dale, he would play them over, and over, and over, kinda burned me out on them. They always had great lyrics, I never cared for the singing much, just my 2 nickles :glasses9:

I'll get it a listen, just make me a fan again, I always like when that happens!!

Craig: I played "Pieces Of Eight" and "The Grand Illusion" on pre-recorded cassette in my Buick countless times. Don't know why I never tired of them. If you are going to give the band a shot, I hope this album is up to snuff - and I think it will be.

Lee: Glad to hear it got your blood going.

Nando, I'm a dyed-in-wool Styx fan, wore out 2 Equinox albums....literally WORE THEM OUT!!

Always loved the vocal harmonies and this one hauls the equipment down the road.

Blondie has done a great job too with their newest album.

Likewise ...

Wore out 'Grand', 'Pieces' and 'Equinox' back in the day.

Shaw is an amazing artist and still going strong.

Next to Boston's first album, we always thought 'Grand Illusion' sounded equally amazing - even on our crappy equipment.

He got some touring disease like Steve Perry and they booted him.

Not the same as without him granted, but that new stuff is pretty damn good...Tommy Shaw is still there....

Without DeYoung styx is just another band

I tend to agree ... they aren't the full package without him - no matter how much the stand-in tries hard and sounds OK.

But Shaw was always the 'hit maker' and ginned up better songs IMHO.
