NeverSatisfied is getting a fresh d500

Back a couple years ago, my first RL-11 was only $300 in excellent condition. Now to get the same excellent condition, it was up to $500. Perusing the net, I only found ONE RL-11 in very nice condition and with shipping is just shy of $500. This is the ONLY ONE I found.

Things you just do not need...

The majority of the time I have the tone controls bypassed, with loudness on. There are maybe 10 albums I can listen to with loudness turned off. Been listening to amps all my life with the loudness on, albums seem to sound thin with it off. I don't get it.

Help me understand this please.
