You are welcome, Larry. The Tragically Hip are one of our favourite Canadian bands. Geri and I will be going to the River Rock Casino on October 1st to see a couple of favourite rock and blues guitarists of yours and mine: Randy Bachman and Fred Turner.

Think they will do any of the Guess Who years stuff?
Hi Gepetto,

Those two have so much music to draw from, I'm sure there will be a Guess Who tune, or two, in their evening performance. We are really looking forward to this concert.

Hi Stuwee,

I have been looking for The Hip on vinyl. No such luck. I'm looking for excellent condition used vinyl, and it would have to be the right album for me to pay the higher price of a new one.

I contemplated it, but I was thinking of sneaking in a Walkman mini disc recorder. I have some bootleg off the sound board from a couple of Gov't Mule concerts.

So Bachman /Turner of "Bachman-Turner Overdrive actually started as the Guess Who???

Hi Lee,

Randy Bachman left the Guess Who in 1970 and hooked up with Fred Turner, who replaced Chad Allan (formerly of the Guess Who) in their new band BTO, formed in 1973. In about 2005, I recorded the live feed from a Winnipeg radio station, of Bachman and Cummings who were kicking off their Canadian tour. Burton Cummings still has a great voice.

Randy Bachman lives on a small island a few hours from me.

Does he own the island??
He lives on Salt Spring Island. That island is known for many of its famous resident artisans... and alot of the good, organic stuff to keep those creative juices flowing, if you know what I mean.

Good to hear, Larry. Geri's ex-brother-in-law was the road manager for The Band. I need to tell a few stories that Geri has told me, in a different thread, about Bill's experiences with The Band.

Nando.

Nando, I'd love to hear the stories please :thumbright: Burton Cummings is one of my fav male singers, right up there with Paul Rodgers.
