Well, you could do what I did and get a 1300/4300/2600A pile. But no remote this way. Receivers come with a "universal" remote that also controls other things like tape deck and CD player. I will have to lift my arm to turn a knob...

Not concerned about a remote. I seen some "Accidental" button whacking and caused big damage to a set of speakers. I have one for the RL-11 but I don't use it very often.

2600s can be bridged too, if you need to piss off the neighbors.

Done. Had a scare at first- wouldn’t play. Did everything fine if I simulated a tape by making the switch… found the back cover wasn’t in all the way. It was not in the notches in the tape guides on the bottom and sticking out a bit. It bound up the tape I guess. Fixed and it’s working fine.
