Morels

I can clearly see i have no Morels.

Oops, I was getting out the eggs, milk, cracker crumbs and butter.

Nice looking tweeters Larry.

Every speaker I have rebuilt, designed has had the MDT-30 in it. Very fast tweeter and silky smooth. If you want a very defined tweeter this isn't for you. I like the smoothness the most I think. Being that fast and yet smooth. I just can't say enough.

I have heard that as well. Never used the Morel though. Mainly Seas, some Scan Speak, and a lot of el cheapos, which sound very nice to my ear. Peerless of India comes to mind. You should look at Zaph Audio site. He has run a bunch of tweeters through their paces, and it is hard to believe how bad some tweeters are, which sound good and vice versa..Interesting stuff..

I have used a lot. I always go back to Morels. Danny and I have argued about numbers and sound. I look at a couple things on a tweeter. SPL, freq.s, wattage and ohms. I roll the Morels at 2000 to 2500 freq.s. Won't take them to the lowest point. Won't take the woofer or mid to its upper peak either. I do some over lap. With the Morel and a good woofer I can build a nice 2 way. Very simple 2nd order. Closed box not vented. There are some pics in here of me doing a rebuild. Used Morel tweets and mid and a pretty good Dayton woofer. Very flexible in the movement. Don't like stiff woofers. I do want the woofer to move. Push that air. LOL
