Gene is running in second place I think…
Thank you, Eric! I'm on the edge of my seat. My balanced preamp is all checked out, and I have new XLR cables ready to go. The suspense is killing me.
Your story is so very similar to others, like me, on this Forum. Go Navy!
Eat your Wheaties, and lift with your legs when you pull the new Model One out of the cabbage caseSerial number 14 has landed in Visalia. The cabbage case appears to be in great condition. I spent the afternoon clearing space for the amp. As soon as I can safely get the amp out of its case I'll update here with pictures. Thank you to @Hexis22 for the work and @laatsch55 for the case.
It’s a heavy beast to lift in/out of the snug fitting case. Cabbage Case did a perfect job fitting this case to the amp for secure shipping (all 93# of amp and case).Serial number 14 has landed in Visalia. The cabbage case appears to be in great condition. Good morning,... What do you have for the rest of your system along with the Model One?
I selected the "Geostationary" option. The app recommended Ronnie James Dio - Last In Line. The Model One should be able to send those cute speakers into geosynchronous orbit!
That is just wonderful! Thanks!Wiring in the amplifier and output relay boards with wire ties stuck to the side of the toroid shield.

God that looks good! I have been running Shiit for a long time. Entry level, like low entry level and I have had no trouble at all with any of it and it sounds damn good!Good morning,
Thank you for the encouragement. I thought about assembling a crew to manage the lifting, but I was able to safely remove the amp and not damage any parts or foam inserts. It was snug as a bug in a rug.
When I first powered up, with nothing connected, meter switch at 0dB, the left channel needle jumped up to about -10 and then slowly, very slowly, over the course of the next 20 minutes or so, settled back down to resting against the peg.
I allowed the energized amp to sit, unmolested, for another hour before connecting some additional audio equipment. As I write this, I imagine that some of you might have benched it straight out of the case and checked the DC offsets and input impedances, but I was well into the equipment cable connection process before that thought occurred to me.
For the initial light off testing, I purchased some entry-level, designed and Made In USA equipment from Schiit. It's not their best Schiit, but it's some good Schiit. I grabbed a balanced Saga preamp and Lokius EQ as you can see in the photo.
That's as far as I've gotten. Stay tuned. More soon.
Absolute! The one point that really stands out to me ( i know, theres a bunch)...is the input configuration circuit and board. Total fucking genius from my ppint of view. Takes a forward looking guy to even concieve it, and a very talented one to pull off. The more i use it, the more I like it..
